Plano, TX, Jan. 15, 2008 — The town of Dyersburg, Tenn., has awarded Datamatic a contract to automate its water and natural gas meter reading operations. Under the contract, Datamatic will install a turnkey, mobile AMR system including 9,000 gas and another 9,000 water FIREFLY Meter Interface Units.
Datamatic’s AMR system is meter independent, which effectively eliminates the need for meter change-out in an implementation and can potentially save a utility 30-40 percent on the cost of a project.
The installation of the Datamatic AMR system will begin in late January 2008 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the summer.
