Canadian Solar will build N.C. solar energy project by August

Argand Energy Solutions picked Canadian Solar Inc. to build a 2.3 MW solar power project in Louisburg, N.C. The project will use around 7,700 of Canadian Solar’s CS6X-300P photovoltaic modules.

The project began construction last month and is slated for completion in August 2013, according to Power Engineering.

North Carolina ranked fifth in the U.S. last year for installed solar energy projects, according to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). The state celebrated Solar Energy Month in June to acknowledge the state’s solar energy potential.
