Enel to put 400 MW of wind power in operation in Kansas

Two affiliates of Enel Green Power North America on Sept. 6 filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission notices of self-certification as exempt wholesale generators for a pair of 200 MW wind power projects in Kansas.

•The filing from Cimarron Bend Wind Project I was a correction of an original filing which inadvertently referenced the incorrect service territory for the project. Cimarron Bend Wind Project I is developing a 200 MW wind facility located in Clark County, Kansas.

The applicant is developing the facility within the CMS Electric Cooperative service territory. The facility will interconnect with the transmission facilities that are owned and controlled by ITC Great Plains. The wind farm is expected to commence commercial operations in November 2016.

•The other EWG notice was from Cimarron Bend Wind Project II, which is developing a 200 MW wind facility located in Clark County, Kansas. This also within the CMS Electric Cooperative service territory. The facility will interconnect with the transmission facilities that are owned and controlled by ITC Great Plains. It is expected to commence commercial operations in January 2017.
