Power back on in San Francisco area

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Power has been restored to tens of thousands of homes and businesses after an outage in cities near San Francisco.
Electricity was lost around 7:30 a.m. Sunday in parts of Berkeley, El Cerrito, Albany, Oakland, Kensington, San Pablo and Richmond.
Pacific Gas and Electric Co. said as of 9 a.m., about 50,000 customers were without power. Service was restored about two hours later.
Bay Area Rapid Transit said its Downtown Berkeley station was briefly closed.
KNTV reported the outage stemmed from an equipment failure at a substation in El Cerrito.
