Yesterday, G&W Electric Co. announced that global research and standards manager, Nenad Uzelac, has received the Distinguished Member Award from CIGRE. The award recognizes members with more than 10 years of service to CIGRE, as well as participants in the association within committees.
In 2018, Uzelac became the chairman for the CIGRE A3 Transmission & Distribution Equipment Study Committee, and he is the current chairman of IEEE Switchgear Technology and Innovation Subcommittee. Uzelac also received an Attwood Associate Award from CIGRE.
Uzelac began his career at G&W Electric in 1999 as a R&D switchgear engineer. From 2006 to 2015, he was the leader of Switchgear R&D Department. Along with his current position, Uzelac is also the industry affairs and technology manager for switchgear.
“For more than two decades, Nenad has played an integral role in the development of G&W Electric’s switchgear. He has dedicated his knowledge and expertise to make positive contributions to the medium voltage power industry,” said John Mueller, chairman and owner of G&W Electric.
The Distinguished Member title is granted to several long-standing members who qualify. Proposals for nominations are put forward by National Committee chairmen every two years and are approved by the president of CIGRE.
