Last week Clevest said that China Electric Power Equipment and Technology (CET) had deployed its Mobile Workforce Management and Advanced Network Deployment solution to help with the installation of 10 million smart meters for Saudi Electric Co. This advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) project is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 project. Clevest CEO Tom Ligocki called it “the world’s most ambitious smart meter project.”

CET is implementing the project in Saudi Electric Co’s western and southern operating areas and using Clevest technology to begin the project and keep to the utility’s timeline.

Clevest’s Mobile Workforce Management and Advanced Network Deployment technology integrates the utility’s SAP billing system and two separate head end systems, along with street maps and inventory management. The deployment includes 5,000 licenses for Clevest’s WorkBook mobile (field) worker applications along with licenses for office users and dispatchers.

“AMI deployment is an important part of our belt and road initiative, and this project is an example of how we can bring the best technologies available worldwide to our customers,” stated Zhou Xiaomeng, Project Director of CET for the Smart Meter Project (SMP).
