APS selects a new remittance system

Mosinee, WI, June 2, 2008 — WAUSAU announced that Arizona Public Service (APS) has selected WAUSAU as its receivables processor and will utilize WAUSAU’s ImageRPS application for receivables processing.

With the WAUSAU platform, APS has replaced a legacy remittance system in hopes of more efficiently processing more than 1.1 million customer transactions in 11 of Arizona’s 15 counties. APS expects to take advantage of reduced electronic clearing costs when utilizing WAUSAU’s ImageRPS modules for Image Exchange, ACH conversion and best-cost routing. These modules are designed to allow an organization to create deposits based on the best cost for availability, depending on the time of deposit, the amount of the deposit and financial institution the check is drawn upon. APS will utilize an OPEX 150 IEM for primary capture and clearing with a new Unisys Quantum 200 for processing exception items. The organization will also use an OPEX 3690T for capturing Full Page Check & List documents and additional white mail items that enter the workflow.
