Around-the-clock service now available for Foxboro instruments

FOXBORO, Mass., November 12, 2001 — Invensys Process Systems today announced a comprehensive field service program to provide broad-based coverage throughout the U.S. for Foxboro-branded instrument products.

The program provides 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week (24/7) local field service for the entire Foxboro Measurements and Instruments (M&I) product line. This includes Foxboro pressure, temperature, flow, analytical, HTG, and positioning products, as well as older pneumatic equipment.

The program utilizes an established network of 15 regional Foxboro Authorized Service Providers throughout the U.S, offering a total of 250 experienced instrumentation field service experts. The broad distribution of these service technicians throughout the U.S. allows for quick and efficient deployment to a customer’s site.

“This program is part of our ongoing commitment to provide exceptional customer service,” said Kenneth H. Brown, general manager, Foxboro Analytical. “When our customers need us, we want to be there ASAP. This requires locally available, factory trained field service personnel. The Foxboro Authorized Service Providers program is another way we work with customers to provide solutions and improve our customers’ operations,” Brown added.

Three types of field service are provided: on-demand, start-up, and warranty support.

On-demand is the primary field service and is driven by a short-term need to augment the instrumentation staff currently in place at a process facility. Working with customers to ensure that all instruments are calibrated correctly during a process shutdown is an example of on-demand service.

Start-up service is deployed for customers needing help during installation or start-up of process instrumentation.

Warranty support includes traditional “return and replacement” activities, plus specialized services, as needed. For example, if a customer is unable to remove a piece of problematic equipment, service providers, with Foxboro authorization, can troubleshoot and often resolve the problem on site.
