Black & Veatch’s Enterprise Consulting Division appoints new vice president to expand energy consulting offering

Overland Park, Kan., May 7, 2003 — Black & Veatch’s Enterprise Consulting Division announced that it has appointed Richard Heenan, formerly an associate partner in IBM’s Global Consulting Services practice, as vice president of its energy consulting services group.

Black & Veatch’s Enterprise Consulting Division offers a full range of consulting services to electric and water utilities, including portfolio management, business transformation, global restructuring, asset optimization and renovation program management.

“In his new role, Richard will be responsible for expanding our existing energy consulting offerings,” said Rodger Smith, president of Black & Veatch’s Enterprise Consulting Division. “His experience with electric utilities, both large and small, coupled with his extensive industry knowledge and contacts will make Richard a tremendous asset to our team.”

While at IBM, and formerly PricewaterhouseCoopers, Heenan developed and implemented strategic solutions that supported clients’ business interests and added value to their enterprises. “I was responsible for building PricewaterhouseCoopers’ utility consulting business through the development of numerous solution sets, which ultimately expanded the services offering to energy clients both in the United States and in Europe,” said Heenan.

Heenan has more than 30 years’ experience in the areas of financial and cost management, supply chain, operations and analyses, customer service, maintenance planning and control, productivity and project management. For the last several years, he has been responsible for selling and managing large multi-disciplinary projects, and in these efforts, has dealt at all levels of management within electric utilities.

Prior to PricewaterhouseCoopers, Heenan was president of RWHIGH & Associates, Inc., a service organization that liquidated assets of bankrupt trucking companies for bankruptcy estates. Additionally, Heenan was president of Overland Enterprises, Inc., a corporation in the trucking, truck stops and franchise fast food industry.

“Richard’s skill set fits perfectly with what we will accomplish for our clients in the energy consulting industry,” said Smith. “Our focus is to anticipate our clients’ challenges before they occur, then solve them. With the addition of Richard to expand our energy consulting offerings, we are better placed to do just that.”
