Alstom to supply 19 wind turbines for CPFL Renovaveis in Brazil

Alstom has signed a contract with CPFL Renovàƒ¡veis, to deliver, erect and commission 19 ECO 122 wind turbines in the wind complex Pedra Cheirosa, located in Cearàƒ¡ State, in the northeast of Brazil.

The contract was signed in the framework of the last A-5 auction system in Brazil, which is related to projects that have to operate in the coming 5 years. The wind turbines will be ready for the commercial operation in December of 2017.

This is the first wind power project of Alstom with CPFL Renovàƒ¡veis. The wind farms will generate 50 MW, an amount that can bring energy to around 100.000 people. The ECO 122 wind turbines will be produced at Alstom manufacturing unit in Camaàƒ§ari (Bahia State).

ECO 122 is the latest evolution of Alstom’s ECO 100 and the result of more than 30 years of experience in wind turbine design. All Alstom wind turbines are based upon the Alstom Pure Torque rotor support concept that protects the drive train from deflection loads, ensuring higher reliability and lower maintenance costs.
