Bechtel breaks ground on California Valley Solar Ranch

Frederick, Md., November 11, 201 — Bechtel leaders, along with representatives from NRG Energy, Inc., SunPower Corp., and local dignitaries, celebrated the groundbreaking of the California Valley Solar Ranch, a solar photovoltaic facility.

Bechtel is providing engineering, procurement, and construction services for the 250 MW facility located in San Luis Obispo County, north of Los Angeles.

Upon completion, CVSR will produce clean, renewable energy to meet the needs of about 100,000 homes. Construction of the facility is expected to take about two years.

In addition to its work on CVSR, Bechtel is currently building the Ivanpah project in the Mojave Desert.
