Bullfrog Power, partners open Nova Scotia wind power project

Bullfrog Power, developer Minas Energy and a local partnership of towns opened the Ellershouse Wind Farm.

Located in West Hants, near Ellershouse, Nova Scotia, the four-turbine wind farm is the first wind power development in Nova Scotia to be funded and built independently of the local power authority or any provincial government incentive program.

The wind power project consists of Enercon E-92 wind turbines that have a total capacity of 9.2 MW — enough to power 2,800 Nova Scotian homes.

The Ellershouse Wind Farm is the latest green energy project supported by Bullfrog Power. During our 10-year history, Bullfrog Power has been able to offer all Canadians a green energy choice.

Along the way, thanks to the support of Bullfrog Power’s customers, the organization has been involved in the commissioning of wind farms across Canada, from some of Ontario’s first wind turbines to landmark developments such as Bear Mountain Wind Park, British Columbia’s first wind farm.
