Canadian Solar to supply Saudi Aramco solar power project

Canadian Solar will supply 1.78 MW in solar energy modules to Saudi Aramco’s King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center solar power project in Saudi Arabia. The project will use ground-mounted solar photovoltaic technology.

Saudi Arabia has a program to deploy and develop about 16 GW of solar photovoltaic capacity. Canadian Solar will use its CS6X series solar panels in the project.

Canadian Solar’s solar panels have been tested for deployment in desert environments, according to the company, and received international certifications, including a “desert-proof certificate — blowing sand test.”
