CGI launches energy optimization tracking system for Consumers Energy

Fairfax, Virginia, September 24, 2009 – CGI Group Inc., a provider of information technology and business process services, announced that it installed an end-to-end enterprise Energy Optimization Tracking System for Consumers Energy.

Under the agreement, CGI will provide Consumers Energy with tracking system hosting and management services, throughout the term of the three-year contract.

CGI’s solution will support Consumers Energy’s six-year energy optimization plan, designed to help residential and business customers save energy and money.

Michigan’s 2008 comprehensive energy law sets aggressive energy efficiency goals for the state and the Consumers Energy programs are designed to help reach those goals.

“Through our relationship with CGI, we successfully launched our energy optimization tracking system within record time. CGI’s extensive technical knowledge and experience in energy efficiency programs plays a crucial role in supporting these programs,” said Carl VanDomelen, Consumers Energy’s Director of Database Management.

“CGI is pleased to use its technical and industry expertise to support the energy optimization programs of Consumers Energy,” said Peter Ihrig, Senior Vice-President, CGI. “CGI is committed to the communities within which we live and work, and this program delivers great benefits for all energy consumers.”

CGI’s Energy Optimization Tracking System enables Consumers Energy to effectively manage its energy optimization portfolio through the entire lifecycle.

Features include a web-based user interface to streamline business processes, workflow management to track project tasks from the initial customer contact through to project completion, bulk data upload for third parties and flexible data reporting and extract capabilities.
