Chile regulators contracts 136 MW hydro works

Chile‘s Eléctrica Puntilla awarded contracts for the Ñuble run-of-the-river hydropower in Biobío region (VIII).

Civil works for the 136 MW project were contracted to local construction firms Vial y Vives and DSD, according to a Puntilla filing with securities regulator SVS.

Austria’s Andritz group will engineer, supply and install the plant’s hydromechanical and electromechanical equipment.

The $350 million plant will inject 620 GWh/y into the central SIC grid, and is expected to begin operations in June 2017.
