Companies to develop 50 MW of solar power in California

PsomasFMG and Constellation agreed to develop up to 50 MW of distributed solar power generation projects for schools and municipalities in California through the end of 2015.

Constellation will provide financing to build, own and operate the solar projects and sell the electricity to customers through power purchase agreements. To date, four projects have been completed or are currently under construction in southern California: an 878 kW system for Castaic Union School District; a 7.6 MW portfolio for Chaffey Joint Union High School District; a 1 MW system for Keppel Union School District; and a 976 kW system for the city of Palmdale.

Constellation owns more than 180 MW of solar power installations throughout the U.S. that have been completed or are under construction. Of that total, 90 MW were installed for schools and municipal locations in California and Arizona.
