ecobee offers demand response savings to SCE customers

Energy efficiency and smart thermostat company ecobee’s Smart Si thermostat with ZigBee Smart Energy Profile (SEP) is now compatible with Southern California Edison’s (SCE) advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) network.

As a compatible home area network device, select SCE customers will be able to connect their ecobee smart thermostats to their smart meter and make informed decisions about energy usage in their homes.

As part of SCE’s limited launch of residential demand response-capable thermostats, the ecobee Smart Si allows SCE to offer two-way communication to its customers and provides automated energy conservation to help customers save on their energy bills.

ecobee works with utilities across North America in deployment of programmable communication thermostats for residential and commercial thermostats, including Pacific Gas and Electric, National Grid, Austin Energy, Just Energy, Milton Hydro, Taylor Electric and Avista Utilities.
