enXco signs power purchase agreement for 201 MW wind project

Escondido, Calif., July 21, 2009 – enXco, an EDF Energies Nouvelles company, and Indianapolis Power and Light Co. agreed to a power purchase agreement for a 201 MW wind facility to be built in southwestern Minnesota.

enXco will develop, build and own the wind project consisting of 134 GE 1.5 MW turbines while IPL will purchase the power generated under a 20-year power purchase agreement. The project, expected to be operational by the end of 2010, will be operated and maintained by enXco Service Corp.

The agreement between enXco and IPL comes after the two companies’ development of the 106 MW Hoosier Wind Project in Indiana, which is currently under construction.

The Lakefield Wind Project, which is subject to the approval of the IURC as well as the Minnesota Public Utility Commission, is the result of a request for proposals issued by IPL in December 2008.
