Google supporting solar energy project in South Africa

Internet giant Google is supporting a 96 MW South African solar energy project with a $12 million investment. The Jasper Power Project will be one of the largest photovoltaic projects in Africa, according to Google.

SolarReserve, Kensani Group and Intikon Energy are also contributing to the project.

Google has invested some $1 billion in renewable energy investments, according to Power Engineering, and the company said it will continue to look for new ways to invest in renewable power.
