Juhl Wind starts construction of $3.6 million wind project in Minnesota

Woodstock, Minn., October 6, 2010 — Juhl Wind, Inc. recently began construction on the 1.5 MW wind system for Winona County, Minn.

The project will cost about $3.6 million and is slated for completion by the end of 2010. The Winona County project is one of the first sites in North America to use two Unison, direct-drive wind turbine generators — a technology based on an advanced, gearless system.

“The Winona County construction is the first of a handful of projects we will be building in the second half of 2010 and early part of 2011,” said Dan Juhl, CEO of Juhl Wind.

Juhl Wind is a community based wind power development and management firm, focused on wind farm projects throughout the U.S. and Canada.
