Nevada passes RPS bill; Gov. threatens veto

It will phase in a major new market share for renewables, including wind. It has been estimated that the bill, if adopted into law by the governor, will create a market for about 260 MW of new renewables by 2003 and about 1,000 MW of new renewables by 2013. This bill is now on the desk of the Governor of Nevada.

May 29, 2001 – The Minnesota Legislature adopted a far-reaching energy bill May 28, just hours before the legislature adjourned for the year. The new law establishes annual targets for all utilities in the state to supply a small but growing percentage of their electricity from renewable energy resources, defined as wind, solar, biomass or low-capacity hydro, culminating in 10% by 2015.
