Partners build 24 MW wind energy project portfolio in Nova Scotia

H.B. White Canada Corp., a unit of White Construction Inc., has been selected as the EPC contractor to build four wind energy projects in Nova Scotia. The four projects entered into wind turbine supply agreements with Vestas to supply a total of twelve V100-2.0 MW wind turbines in late 2013.

The wind energy projects, have been developed by juwi Wind Services Canada, on behalf of the project’s community and institutional owners. The selection was made after a competitive process managed by juwi Wind Services Canada.

The 24 MW portfolio consists of the 10 MW Pockwock Community Wind Project, the 6 MW Millbrook Community Wind Project, the 4 MW Truro-Heights Community Wind Project and the 4 MW Whynotts Community Wind project.

The White organization and their affiliated companies have built over 10.5 GW of wind power projects throughout North America.

The projects were developed as a portfolio under the Nova Scotia Community Feed-In-Tariff program, where each project is partially owned by the local community.
