Mobile Health and Safety Solutions

SecuraTrac announced its next-generation mPERS mobile emergency pendant, the MobileDefender Model S (MD-S). The model S (MD-S) is developed on the same platform as the MobileDefender and introduces new capabilities that will help to ensure the safety of those who use the MD-S and the SecuraTrac platform.

Companies that dispatch employees into unknown environments and situations can rely on the MD-S to relay information about employee locations while providing them with an instant connection to help if an emergency occurs. The MD-S has a variety of useful applications. In addition to state-of-the-art location technologies, the MD-S also offers a built-in fall advisory capability. The MD-S can detect horizontal and vertical movement so if an employee falls on the job or is knocked over, he or she does not have to initiate a call for help. The MD-S will trigger one automatically. Leveraging existing SecuraTrac cloud-based location technology, the new MD-S adds the ability for central stations to respond to potential accidents.

PV Optimization System

Enterprise Internet of Things (IoT) platform firm infiswift has launched swiftPV, which leverages IoT technology to change how the solar industry uses data to optimize photovoltaic (PV) systems’ performance. The suite of products and services allows PV power plant owners and operators to connect diverse PV assets and distill insights from the data.

The swiftPV suite of products and services includes “blocks” that can be used to build a solution-each customer selects what’s right for them. The current swiftPV blocks include: 1) Data ingest: This core block connects and manages all field devices and cloud feeds regardless of vendor. This scalable platform ensures data is properly routed from origination to destination in near real-time. 2) Apps: SwiftPV apps use custom mobile and web visual interfaces for each stakeholder on the team. 3) Cloud Historian: This is a private database with open data access and flexible setup to cover all data needs. 4) Reports: SwiftPV produces reports with tailored recommendations and data that can be updated and customized for delivery when needed. 5) PV Performance Services (PVPS): Professional engineering support is available to monitor, analyze and interpret complex data.

Digital Energy Automation Software

With its zenon software, COPA-DATA is offering both its private customers and those in the public energy and infrastructure sector a modern system that is able to support many different areas of application.

The solution on offer supports the automation of substations, hydropower plants and wind farms. Its focus is on monitoring and optimizing electricity grids, interconnecting energy storage systems, and controlling equipment for the generation and distribution of renewable energy. Zenon is frequently implemented in substation automation, including on-site operation (HMI), at control center level (SCADA), and at gateways. COPA-DATA is also developing proprietary communication stacks for important international standards, including IEC 61850 (Edition 2), IEC 60870, IEC 61400-25, DNP 3, Modbus Energy and ICCP. The latest product enhancements include new modules for command sequencer, process recorder and impedance-based fault locating.
