PSEG’s 50 MW Pavant Solar II project in Utah due for startup in September 2016

Pavant Solar II on June 14 requested that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission accept for filing a proposed market-based rate tariff and authorize Pavant to sell energy, capacity and certain ancillary services at market-based rates.

Pavant is a direct unit of PSEG Solar Utah, which is a unit of PSEG Solar Source. Pavant is building and will own and operate a 50 MW photovoltaic solar facility in McCormick, Utah. The Pavant facility is located on property leased from McCornwood Enterprises.

The Pavant facility will be interconnected to PacifiCorp by way of a 46-kV transmission cable. The commercial operation date for the Pavant facility is Sept. 30, 2016. Pavant anticipates generating test power beginning Sept. 1, 2016. All of the energy and ancillary services are firm and committed to PacifiCorp under a power purchase agreement dated March 25, 2015.

Pavant’s ultimate parent is New Jersey-based Public Service Enterprise Group.
