Siemens won an order for a wind power plant with a combined capacity of 144 MW from Sweden. The customer of the project Sidensjàƒ¶ is Nordisk Vindkraft, Gàƒ¶teborg. Nordisk Vindkraft will realize this project on behalf of Stadtwerke Màƒ¼nchen.
Siemens will supply 48 direct drive wind turbines with an output of 3 MW each and a rotor diameter of 113 meters. The scope of supply also encompasses servicing of the wind turbines for a period of 15 years.
After commissioning, which is scheduled for spring 2015, Sidensjàƒ¶ will supply power sufficient to power 160,000 Munich households with renewable energy.
The Sidensjàƒ¶ wind farm is about 310 miles north of Stockholm. To date, Siemens has installed more than 420 wind turbines with a capacity of 1,000 MW in Sweden.
