Solar Chile submits environmental declaration for $95 million solar plant

February 24, 2012 — Chilean firm Solar Chile submitted its environmental impact declaration for a $95 million solar power project in La Tirana, in Chile’s Arica and Parinacota regions.

The plant, dubbed La Tirana Solar I, will have a capacity of 34 MW generated by 479,520 solar panels. The facility will supply Chile‘s northern power network SING.

The environmental impact declaration will be analyzed until May 17, 2012.

Solar Chile is a unit of non-profit private corporation Fundacion Chile and U.S. photovoltaic system solutions provider First Solar.
