HOUSTON, Sept. 10, 2003 — Tractebel Energy Services Inc., the retail energy business of Tractebel North America Inc. (TNA), received approval from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to supply retail electricity to New Jersey customers.
Tractebel Energy Services provides risk-managed retail electricity to commercial and industrial customers, offering them products and services to minimize risks and help control their energy budgets.
With the expiration of New Jersey’s bundled energy price cap, which had been in effect for the past five years, more than 1,700 large commercial and industrial users will be dealing with market uncertainty, including exposure to hourly volatility of electricity prices. However, deregulation, when managed properly, can provide a real opportunity for lowering electricity costs as well as gaining access to innovative services.
“We know New Jersey is a distinct market with specific needs. We’ve taken the time to understand this market and we are confident that Tractebel can help prospective industrial and commercial customers in New Jersey control their electricity costs,” said Zin Smati, president and CEO of Tractebel Energy Services. “Tractebel has a proven track record in New Jersey’s neighboring state, New York, where we are providing power to a variety of marquee-caliber customers, representing mass merchandisers, supermarkets, commercial office buildings, hotels and more. Based on our experience in the New York market, as well as other states where we currently operate, Tractebel is well positioned to help New Jersey customers manage their risks and control their energy budgets.”
Headquartered in Houston, Tractebel Energy Services serves a variety of commercial and industrial customers, including hospitals, hotels, colleges and universities, industrial and manufacturing facilities, supermarkets and chain stores, and large residential buildings. The company’s New Jersey office is located at 320 South Warren Street, Trenton, New Jersey, and can be contacted at 609-396-7651, ext. 139, or www.tractebelenergy.com.
