Endesa Chile has contracted Germany’s Voith Hydro to supply, install and activate electromechanical equipment for the company’s 150 MW Los Càƒ³ndores hydro project in Maule region, according to Business News Americas.

The $660 million run-of-the-river plant will be built underground to minimize environmental impact and generate 642 GWh annually, an Endesa release said, with construction expected to finish in 2018.

Voith supplies components for the entire life cycle of small and large hydro plants, and has operated for more than 140 years.
