Weltec Biopower builds 1.6 MW of biogas renewable energy in France

Biogas plant manufacturer Weltec Biopower GmbH and partner Domaix Energie developed four agricultural biogas plant projects in France.

The biogas plants will use sludge and food leftovers from large catering establishments as feedstock to generate renewable energy. In all four biogas power plants, the residual heat will be used in a digestate dryer to reduce the amount of liquid manure and market the dried digestate.

By using waste heat, the four biogas plants have a power generation efficiency of at least 70 percent, enabling the operators to benefit from the heat and power bonus.
