Xcel Energy to buy 698 MW of wind energy from three states

Xcel Energy‘s Southwestern Public Service Co. wants to purchase 700 MW of wind energy through three power purchase agreements in three states.

The power purchase agreements are for 199 MW from the Mammoth Plains Wind Energy Center in Oklahoma and 249 MW from the Palo Duro Wind Energy Center in Texas, both owned by NextEra Energy Resources; and 250 MW from the Roosevelt Wind Ranch in New Mexico, owned by Infinity Wind Resources.

 

The power purchase agreements are for a duration of 20 years, according to Power Engineering.
