Comverge expands contract with Pepco Holdings

East Hanover, N.J., February 4, 2010 — Comverge announced an expanded agreement with Pepco Holdings to provide marketing, installation and call center services managed by Comverge demand response software.

Comverge is a provider of smart grid, demand management and energy efficiency solutions. In the agreement, Comverge will expand its full support services to additional PHI territories.

The agreement also includes installation of more than 40,000 home energy management devices, making this program one of the largest deployments of residential demand response in the nation.

PHI and its subsidiary utilities were notified in 2009 by the U.S. Department of Energy that its applications for an aggregate of $258 million in stimulus funding was accepted for award to accelerate the smart grid deployment across portions of its service territory. 

Comverge will provide its Dual Mode Digital Control Unit in addition to its SuperStat PRO programmable thermostats for the program. The entire system will be managed by Comverge’s Apollo Demand Response Management System (DRMS) software.
