RacoWireless, a machine-to-machine (M2M) enabler, has partnered with EnTouch Controls, a leader in energy management systems for restaurants, retail and small businesses, to provide a connected solution for facility management. EnTouch is helping small business operators by providing an energy management system (EMS) to reduce energy usage through data analytics, performance diagnostics and managed services. The EnTouch EMS platform integrates wireless thermostats and monitoring controllers with a cloud-based facility management dashboard that customers can access from anywhere. The connected systems feed the dashboard every minute with usage data that can be analyzed for trends to identify maintenance issues or usage patterns. The company also offers EnTouch 360°, a 24/7 managed service to analyze this data to detect abnormal energy usage and to alert facilities staff to potential maintenance issues. EnTouch’s energy management system has demonstrated energy cost reductions of up to 25 percent.

Noninductive Thick-film Axial Terminal Resistors
Ohmite Manufacturing, a provider of thermal solutions and resistors for high-current, high-voltage and high-energy applications, adds a new noninductive option to its Maxi-Mox series of thick-film axial terminal resistors. This alternative to the standard configuration is ideal for high-frequency applications and controls. Maxi-Mox offers a resistance range of 250 ohms to 1 Teraohm. Other features include: a voltage rating of up to 50 kV, a power rating of up to 12.5 W, and RoHS-compliant construction. Maxi-Mox resistors come standard with a durable epoxy coating with an optional silicone coating to tolerate extremely high- or low-temperature environments.
Field Data Collection
GE MapSight captures a geolocated photo of an asset from which accurate measurements can be made. It is a combination of hardware and software that merges GPS, laser rangefinder, digital camera and a digital compass into an all-in-one field data collection device. MapSight provides field workers with consistent data, taking the guesswork out of measuring utility poles and assets. The unit also can geolocate and time stamp photos, allowing utility workers to easily verify when and where a measurement was made. All data captured with the GE MapSight device is imported into MapSight View software for measuring and custom report creation. MapSight View also allows for custom form creation that represents your day-to-day field collection experience. This data is easily imported into FieldSmart View for further viewing/editing and near real time transmission back to the home office.
