California ISO names new executive

The California Independent System Operator Corporation board of governors appointed Roger Collanton to the position of vice president, general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary, effective February 17, 2014.

Collanton succeeds Nancy Saracino, who, after nearly seven years of service to the ISO, resigned in early February to return to private practice.

Collanton serves as the ISO’s chief legal officer, leading the California ISO‘s legal, internal audit and corporate compliance functions, as well as advising the Board of Governors on legal, governance and corporate issues.

Collanton has over 18 years of legal experience and was most recently the ISO’s deputy general counsel. Prior to joining the ISO in 2009, he was a partner at the law firm of Morrison & Foerser, LLP in San Francisco. He is a member of the California Bar and has extensive experience in appearing before state and federal courts throughout California and the U.S.
