Deadline is Next Monday for Project of Year Entries

Every year some of the nation’s biggest and best utility projects are honored at DistribuTECH. We like to think that winning a Project of the Year is a unique honor, but it’s like any other contests in one key way.

You can’t win if you don’t enter.

Electric Light & Power Executive Digest and POWERGRID International are still accepting nominations for projects of the year in all four categories: Customer Engagement, Demand Response/Energy Efficiency, DER Grid Integration and Grid Optimization. Barring an extension, the last day to enter is Monday, September 18 and you can submit your project here.

Winners will be notified the week of October 16. Awards will be presented to each winner on Monday, January 23, 2018 in San Antonio during DistribuTECH’s keynote session. Winners also will be recognized in a 2018 issue of POWERGRID International.

Projects will be judged by our editors on ingenuity, scope, practicality, vision and follow-through.

All companies involved in the delivery of electric power are eligible, including investor-owned utilities, federal power agencies, municipal utilities and rural electric cooperatives. Also eligible are RTOs, ISOs, independent transmission companies and other T&D-owning/operating entities.

Winning entries will work with a POWERGRID International editor to develop the article and award video between October 16 and the DistribuTECH keynote session on Jan. 23, 2018. High-resolution photos/graphics (up to 10) and additional project details will be required.

If you have any questions about the submissions process, your project’s eligibility or anything else, email Rod Walton at We look forward to receiving your nominations and learning about the great projects in which you all are involved.
