Electric Power Research Institute names Heller to board of directors

The Electric Power Research Institute announced that it has appointed Missouri River Energy Services CEO Thomas J. Heller as interim director on the EPRI board of directors.

Heller will serve until April 2016.
Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based Missouri River Energy Services supplies power and services to 61 communities in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Heller joined MRES in 1992, and he also currently services on the board of directors for the National Hydro Power Association.

Heller earned his degree in electrical engineering from North Dakota State University. He also holds an MBA from Minnesota State University at Moorhead.

The Electric Power Research Institute, Inc., based in Palo Alto, California, conducts research and development relating to the generation, delivery and use of electricity for the benefit of the public. An independent, nonprofit organization, EPRI brings together its scientists and engineers as well as experts from academia and industry to help address challenges in electricity, including reliability, efficiency, affordability, health and safety.
