Linda Stuntz joins Edison, SCE boards

Edison International (EIX) and Southern California Edison (SCE) elected Linda G. Stuntz to the board of directors of each company, effective today.

“Linda Stuntz brings to our board of directors valuable expertise in utility and environmental law, as well as extensive public policy experience,” said Ted Craver, chairman and chief executive officer of Edison International. “She has served on the boards of public companies in the energy and electric utility industries, and we look forward to her insights and counsel on a broad range of critical issues.”

Stuntz, 59, is a founding partner of the Washington, DC law firm of Stuntz, David and Staffier, P.C., specializing in energy issues and environmental regulation. Before the firm was established in 1995, Stuntz was a partner in the law firm of Van Ness Feldman LLP from 1993 to 1995.

Previously, she held a number of senior policy positions, including deputy secretary, at the U.S. Department of Energy. She played a principal role in the development and enactment of the Energy Policy Act of 1992 and helped to develop and implement the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. Stuntz also served as associate minority counsel and minority counsel to the Energy and Commerce Committee at the U.S. House of Representatives from 1981 to 1987.

Stuntz currently serves on the board of directors of Raytheon Co. and Royal Dutch Shell plc, and she previously served as a director of Schlumberger, Ltd. and American Electric Power Co. A long-time member of the Energy Bar Association and frequent speaker on electricity and natural gas regulation, she was named by the Legal Times in May 2005 as one of the leading energy lawyers in the nation.
