ACRT Inc., an independent utility vegetation management (UVM) company, announced the hiring of Mike Neal, a 35-year industry veteran with experience stemming from across the United States.
Serving as Director of Customer Solutions, Neal will leverage a range of expertise in arboriculture and UVM to directly help ACRT customers find better solutions through improved programs and management. He will be based in Phoenix.
“My role is to help our customers and future customers help themselves,” Neal said. “I’ll be looking for anything we can do to help our customers improve their UVM programs.”
A graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in forestry, Neal began his career with the Florida Division of Forestry before making a career of UVM. He spent time with Appalachian Power Company in West Virginia and Atlantic Electric in New Jersey before spearheading the development of the UVM program for Arizona Public Service, where he spent 20 years before joining ACRT.
“ACRT is a great fit because their ideals mirror mine,” said Neal. “I think this position represents a great opportunity for me to apply my knowledge and expertise to help a great organization grow their business.”
Neal is a past president of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), the Utility Arborist Association (UAA) and the TREE Fund, and he served as chair of the Edison Electric Institute Vegetation Management Task Force. He remains active in numerous other industry organizations.
