Spencer Rigler will be the new CEO of energy data analytics software provider Onzo effective Feb. 16, the company announced.
Previously vice president of energy management with Elster, a global provider of gas, electricity and water meters and related communications, networking and software solutions, Rigler brings more than 20 years of experience of developing business in new technology and services for multinational companies in the private and public sectors. At Elster he led an international team with P&L responsibility for sales, consultancy and service operations delivering energy management and smart grid solutions to retail, energy service companies, utility, government and military customers.
Rigler began his career in the energy industry working for Yorkshire Electricity. After this, he joined Nokia, where he held senior leadership roles in sales, solutions and service in Asia and Europe, most recently as head of global service sales, and France Telecom Orange, where he was responsible for strategy, business development, sales and key customer relationships in markets including the U.K., Poland, Switzerland, France and Africa.
Rigler’s nomination follows a significant new financing round by new and existing investors led by West Coast Capital, the investment vehicle of Sir Tom Hunter, a Scottish businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Also recently, Onzo announced the arrival of industry veteran Steven Daniels who joined the company as nonexecutive director.
“We are fortunate to have Spencer Rigler join Onzo and its world-class analytics team at such an exciting time in our development,” said Eddie Minshull, Onzo chairman. “We now have clients in the U.S., U.K. and continental Europe leveraging our leading development work in energy insights and appliance disaggregation. Last year we launched our unique Highly Personalised Energy Advice application that delivers unparalleled levels of customer engagement and energy data insight. I’m confident that with Steven Daniels on the board and Spencer Rigler as CEO we have the right management team to take Onzo to the next step in its expansion.”
