Panasonic CEO Gebhardt Appointed to Coronal Energy Board

Solar and energy storage firm Coronal Energy has named the CEO of its partner company Panasonic to the board of directors.

Panasonic Corp. of North America Chairman and CEO Tom Gebhardt was named to the Coronal board, the company announced Monday. Panasonic is a partner with Coronal on offering utility-scale solar and storage solutions.

“As stewards of Panasonic’s investment in the utility scale solar industry, our Board welcomes Mr. Gebhardt to the Coronal Energy team. This comes at an exciting point in our history, and builds upon a multi-year partnership that dates back to the very beginning of our company,” said Jonathan Jaffrey, Chairman and CEO of Coronal Energy, in a statement. “We look forward to working together with Panasonic to further expand our business footprint in the clean energy industry.”

Gebhardt has spent 34 years of his career with Panasonic. He was named chairman and CEO in early 2017.

In partnership with Panasonic, Coronal Energy has a solar operating portfolio of 333 MW under ownership. Overall the partnership has helped develop projects in 40 states totaling 2.3 GW.
