Survalent commissions SCADA system for Evonik Degussa Corp., Alabama

Survalent Technology, a provider of smart grid solutions for control rooms, commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Evonik Degussa Corp., Alabama.

Evonik Degussa is a major international specialty chemical producer. They have over 30,000 employees with production facilities in 26 countries.

The new system features Survalent’s open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent’s open system applications, including: WorldView, SCADA Explorer, Remote Alarm Annunciation, SCADA Add-In and Event Data Recording.

“Evonik, like many large manufacturing companies, benefit from using a utility-grade SCADA system,” states Steve Strauss, vice president of sales for the Eastern U.S. “While there are many software products targeted at manufacturing processes, Survalent offers a utility grade SCADA product that is engineered for power system requirements. Most process products do not meet IEEE & NERC CIP security requirements or have the ease in use and templates to support power system devices. We are pleased to add Evonik to our growing number of Large Manufacturing companies who have selected Survalent for control and monitoring of their power system.”

Survalent Technology is an independent supplier of SCADA systems for electric, transit, renewable and water/wastewater utilities in North America.
