Argentina will install 3.5 GW of power generation capacity over the next 12 months, a government release said.
Projects include the 745 MW Nàƒ©stor Kirchner nuclear plant, due to come online any day now, and the gas-powered 560 MW Vuelta de Obligado facility.
The latter, scheduled to fire up in the next few weeks, according to the release, will receive a new turbine next year, increasing its total capacity to 840 MW.
Meanwhile, the 600 MW Guillermo Brown thermal plant will become operational in 2015, and a new turbine will increase the Brigadier Làƒ³pez thermal plant’s capacity to 420 MW from 280 MW.
The country has installed 9 GW of generation capacity since 2003, federal planning minister Julio de Vido said.
