B&W to clean up AEP power plants in Texas, Oklahoma

Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. (B&W PGG) won contracts totaling more than $40 million for environmental control equipment at two American Electric Power (AEP) coal-fired power plants in Oklahoma and Texas.

Under the contracts, B&W PGG will engineer and supply a fabric filter for particulate emissions control for AEP Public Service Co. of Oklahoma’s Northeastern Station Unit 3 near Oologah, Oklahoma, and two fabric filters for AEP Southwestern Electric Power Co.’s Welsh Power Plant Units 1 and 3, near Pittsburg, Texas.

Material delivery for Northeastern Unit 3 is scheduled for mid-2014. Materials for Welsh are scheduled for delivery in 2014 and 2015.
