Babcock and Wilcox signs circulating dry scrubber licensing agreement

Barberton, Ohio, June 10, 2010 — Babcock and Wilcox Power Generation Group signed a licensing agreement to design, sell, supply and construct German environmental solutions provider Enviroserv GmbH’s circulating fluidized bed flue gas desulfurization technology.

B&W PGG is a subsidiary of The Babcock and Wilcox Co.

CFB-FGD technology, a dry scrubbing system, is used for the control of sulfur dioxide and other emissions in flue gas produced by power plants and industrial facilities. This technology is applicable to a wide range of plant sizes and fuel sulfur contents.

“Enviroserv’s CFB-FGD technology is an outstanding addition to B&W PGG’s existing portfolio of emissions control products and services and makes us a more comprehensive environmental solutions provider,” said B&W PGG President and Chief Operating Officer Richard L. Killion. “Our customers will benefit by having greater choice and flexibility when it comes to meeting their flue gas desulfurization needs.”

As with all of its products and services, B&W PGG is capable of delivering Enviroserv’s dry scrubber technology on an engineer, procure and construct basis. B&W PGG also provides aftermarket services for all of its products after the sale.
