Entergy promotes Senac to vice president of Power Plant Operations

The Woodlands, Texas, Dec. 15, 2003 — Entergy, an integrated energy company serving over 2.6 million regulated customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, has announced the promotion of Etienne Senac, Jr. to Vice President of Power Plant Operations.

Senac will have primary responsibility over the operations of Entergy’s 32 fossil and hydroelectric generating facilities in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. Altogether, these facilities have the capacity to produce over 18,500 megawatts.

“Etienne has been a key part of our success in providing cost-effective, reliable power to our customers,” said Mike Bakewell, Vice President of Fossil Operations. “His extensive operational experience will be a true asset in this position.”

Senac joined Entergy in 1974 as an electrical engineer at Waterford 1&2, a gas-fired plant outside New Orleans. Since then, Senac has held numerous positions including head of the Waterford electrical maintenance department, lead electrical engineer and later special projects manager for Waterford 3 nuclear plant (also outside New Orleans), plant manager of several fossil facilities, and most recently regional director over operations at seven fossil and hydro facilities in Louisiana and Texas.

Senac received a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from Tulane University, and a master of business administration degree from Tulane. Senac is a member of the Tulane Engineering Society and the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies.
