Iran nuclear plant now at full generation capacity

Unit 1 at Iran‘s Bushehr nuclear power plant has reached full capacity.

A total of 54 fuel assemblies were reloaded and maintenance was also performed on the unit before the restart. The announcement was made by NIAEP-ASE, a joint venture with Nizhny Novgorod Engineering Co. Atomenergoproekt and Russia-based Rosatom.

Rosatom temporarily handed over control of the 1,000 MW nuclear power plant to Iran in September 2013. The plant has been online since 2011.
