Josue Robles Jr. named to DTE Energy board

DETROIT, Nov. 26, 2003 — Josue “Joe” Robles Jr., executive vice president and chief financial officer for USAA, a worldwide insurance and diversified financial services organization, was named to the DTE Energy Board of Directors.

Robles joined USAA in 1994. A member-owned Fortune 500 company, USAA owns and manages more than $72 billion in assets, and provides insurance and financial services to the military community. Robles joined USAA after a 28- year military career, during which he served as the U. S. Army’s budget director at the Pentagon, and saw wartime duty in Vietnam and the Persian Gulf. He retired in 1994 as a major general.

“Joe’s extensive financial background, both while in the military and in business, will provide a wealth of knowledge, experience and leadership,” said Anthony F. Earley Jr., DTE Energy chairman and CEO. “He will serve on the board’s Audit Committee and we’re looking forward to his contributions.”

Robles received a bachelor of business administration degree from Kent State University, and a master of business administration degree from Indiana State University. A native of Puerto Rico, he currently resides in San Antonio, Texas.
