MAN Energy Solutions opened its new U.S. headquarters and Gulf Coast service center May 8 in Brookshire, Texas, about 30 miles west of Houston.

The new workshop and office complex combines engine and turbomachinery repair operations, which were formerly located at two different Gulf Coast sites.

It serves as the home base for over 140 employees who are also responsible for the provision of technical support and field services to customers in the marine, oil & gas, petrochemical and power generation industries in North America.

The new 130,000 square foot facility is the first project built in the Twinwood business park, which is part of a 14,000-acre site that has been proposed for a master-planned community of low-, medium- and high-density residential along with retail, hospitality, higher education and office properties.

Over 100,000 square feet of the new campus are allotted to the service shop, an expansion of nearly 60%. The facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology and machine tools needed for complex repairs. One of the two new shop bays features a 50-ton crane with a 35-foot hook height, which allows larger pieces of equipment to be handled easily.

A new rotor balance stand with a capability up to 100,000 pounds and laser cladding cell are also important features. The new building is not just geared to the needs of the company’s own equipment, but also to similar equipment produced by other manufacturers.
