COLUMBIA, S.C., Nov. 15, 2001 – The Board of Directors of SCANA Corporation has elected Kevin Marsh as president and chief operating officer of PSNC Energy, a SCANA subsidiary.

Marsh, 46, succeeds Charlie Zeigler, who retired from PSNC Energy in September 2001. Marsh had been serving as acting president of PSNC Energy. In his new position, Marsh will be responsible for the utilities’ day-to-day operations, including overseeing a workforce of approximately 640 people in addition to continuing in his role as senior vice president and chief financial officer of SCANA. He will continue to report to Bill Timmerman, SCANA’s chairman, president and chief executive officer.

“In his 17-year career Kevin has demonstrated strong leadership in many positions within the company,” said Timmerman. “This opportunity will expand his leadership to the gas operations of PSNC Energy.”

Marsh joined South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. (SCE&G), the principal subsidiary of SCANA, in 1984 as group manager of technical accounting and was named vice president and controller in 1989. Since then he has served in the capacity of vice president of corporate planning of SCE&G and vice president of finance, treasurer and controller of SCANA. In 1998 Marsh was named senior vice president and chief financial officer of SCANA.

A native of Atlanta, GA, Marsh is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a board member of the Business Development Corporation of South Carolina and a past board member of Palmetto Place Children’s Emergency Shelter. He and his wife, Sue, have two daughters and are members of Union United Methodist Church in Irmo, SC.
