Baton Rouge, La., June 29, 2011 The Shaw Group won an engineering, procurement and construction services contract by Entergy Louisiana for a dual fuel combined-cycle gas turbine plant.

The nominally sized, 550-MW unit will be built at Ninemile Point Steam Electric Station near New Orleans, and is scheduled for commercial operation by mid-2015.

About $500 million will be included in Shaw‘s Power segment’s backlog of unfilled orders in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2011.

Shaw also is building two CCGT gas plants in North Carolina and recently completed a CCGT plant in Nevada. Shaw also supports Entergy with its nuclear power assets. Shaw subsidiaries have provided engineering or maintenance services to nuclear power plants owned or purchased by Entergy since 1973.
