Principal Solar Inc, a publicly traded renewable energy holding company advancing the worldwide use of solar energy through a roll-up strategy, has appointmented John R. Harris, a veteran in the information technology and business process outsourcing industry with more than 35 years of experience in CEO and senior executive positions, to its board of directors.

“John is a key addition to our BOD, bringing deep finance expertise, experience in roll-up strategies and public board proficiency,” said Michael Gorton, CEO and chairman of PSI.

Harris is an operating partner and investor with GlendonTodd Capital and CEO of Chemical Information Services, a leading provider of information services to the bulk chemical sourcing community. Prior to this he served as president and CEO of eTelecare Global Solutions, where the company doubled revenues and expanded operations around the world during his tenure. Previously, Harris was president and CEO of Seven World Wide and CEO of several private equity-backed technology service companies. He also fulfilled senior executive roles at Electronic Data Systems (EDS), where he made significant contributions to the growth of the company. 

“This will be an excellent opportunity to share my business and financial experience with the PSI team as we strive to build a global organization committed to preserving natural resources and protecting future generations,” Harris said. “PSI has conceived an impressive business model that is grounded in solid practices and an aggressive, yet nimble, game plan.”

Harris graduated from the University of West Georgia with a BBA and MBA and is on the board of advisors to the Richardson School of Business. He has held board positions with public and private telecommunications and technology services companies.
